Community Fridge & Cafe
Fresh food for everyone
Supporting local households and reducing food waste, every Wednesday and Saturday.
When
Every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:15am.
Where
The car park at Unity Church, Rye Crescent, BR5 4NH. Inside the church if it's raining.
Afterwards
Free tea and coffee in the church, often with activities for adults or children.
Cost
Free. First come, first served.
What we give out
We give out a variety of bakery, fruit and vegetables, grocery and other items. The food is provided to support local households and to reduce food waste.
Our main focus is the Ramsden Estate, but we help a number of other families in Orpington and beyond too. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from tables in the car park.
Where the food comes from
Fair Share and other local retailers provide the food we distribute.
Stay for a cuppa
After we've given out the food, we serve free tea and coffee in the church building. It's often a chance to join in an activity, meet neighbours and make friends. On Wednesdays over the summer we run practical, easy-cook classes for anyone who wants to learn new recipes.
